About
My name is Alex Loddengaard, and I’m a recent Computer Engineering graduate from the University of Washington. I live in San Francisco. I currently work as a Software Engineer at Cloudera. Prior to Cloudera, I briefly worked as a Software Development Engineer Intern at Google in Shanghai, and prior to that I worked as a Product Manager at Redfin. I’ve also worked as a Teacher’s Assistant for CSE 143 and CSE 190L with Stuart Reges for two years. I also contributed a chapter to Web Programming Step by Step, which is a text book used at several universities, including the University of Washington.
I’m originally from Palos Verdes in Los Angeles, CA. In my free time I like to see family/friends, surf, snowboard, skateboard, snowmobile, river raft, play guitar, play drums, cycle, program, and cook.

Why are you in hand cuffs in your picture Alex? doesn’t look good. haha
His Google interview in San Francisco didn’t go quite as planned…. ;^)
One of the Google APM scavenger items was to get cuffed by a police officer. I was going to respond with a funnier made-up story, but I thought I would just tell the truth.
